Every time there is a book or movie out that has anything to do with the occult the Christian Right goes into a tizzy out of fear.
Every. Time.
You’d think, after all the tizzies they’ve thrown over Harry Potter, they’d get the point that these are just books with half-interesting stories and nothing more.
Seriously, I just want to scream at them to get the fuck over themselves. You want to talk real horror? How about people like Ted Haggard, a supposedly upstanding Man of Christ who was lying to everyone about his homosexual relationship for a number of years. That, to me, (the lie, not the homosexuality), is far more damaging to his family than any “supposed occult messages” in “Twilight” or “Harry Potter.”
It just frustrates me, is all.

Apologies if this is not the case. I did not allow Mr. Kay to post his comment himself because I didn’t, and don’t, want his sort of negativity running rampant in this blog. I am going to go point by point and try to explain my view point here. I honestly don’t expect you to even return to this blog, but I wanted to make sure you got your say. So, here we go.

I am not a follower of the Left Hand Path, Mr. Kay. Of course, it does no real good to explain that to anyone of the Christian persuasion as you’ve already made up your mind as to whom I follow.

I understand exactly who Christ was. He was the Son of God. He died for our sins at Cavalry and rose three days later. He is the the central figure in Christianity and He loved everyone for who they were. He was polite and kind.
His was a message of love and inclusiveness, not of hate and divisiveness, which seems to be the message the Church wants to spread these days.
I don’t know who Christ is? No, Mr. Kay. I know exactly who Christ is. I wonder if you do.

Indeed, I wonder as well. As it appears you’ve already made up your mind as to who I am and what I believe. You came here, responded to a post I made about the rampant fear of anything “occult” in popular culture, and insulted me no less than six times. As well as demonstrating you’ve no sense of Internet protocols, what with the ALL CAPS and all.
Clueless? Ignorant? Loser? No, Mr. Kay. Not I. Nor am I childish or a fool. (Bozo I’ll grant you). I am simply reacting to what I see in the world around me, as you are.
I am reacting to what I see as ignorance on the part of certain members of the Christian Right who are afraid of any little shadow of the occult in popular culture. To be clear, Mr. Kay, vampires don’t exist. Nor does magic(k), (however one spells it). All these things are products of the imagination. Simple as that.
The tone of the original post, the one that sent you into a tizzy, (and thus, validated my point), was meant in a very tongue-in-cheek manner.
Childish? No. I was using a literary device, irony, to get my point across that there is no occult message in “Twilight” (or any of the Harry Potter books, come to that).
So, Mr. Kay, please calm down. Take a moment to reflect on what I’ve written here. Feel free to post another comment if you want. If not, I understand.

Sorcery (Harry Potter) and vampires (Twilight) do stem from the occult. I’m not suggesting Stephanie Meyer or J. K. Rowling are trying to display the occult in their books, but the very origins of these subjects do lie within the occult.
The real occult of this world, conducted by religious groups, government officials, heads of state, heads of industry etc. are all tied together in rings of child molestation and human sacrifice.
There are many examples of children who have suffered at the hands of the so called social elite including the case of the terrible injustice to Holly Greig. To find out more, please visit:
I, personally, do enjoy stories of vampires and sorcery (not so much Harry Potter or Twilight, but that’s neither here nor there) and other horror stories etc. but I’m not naive to believe that all these stories are pure fiction alone. Do I believe in vampires? No, I do not. Do I believe that energies can be taken from a person in a vampiric way? Yes, I do.
The dorm of Slitherin in Harry Potter, for example, is very much symbolic of the Reptilian race who “govern” us. I am not entirely sure if there is a reptilian race but I am willing to keep an open mind.
Anyway, the original post, I feel, was a little misleading to anyone interested in researching of studying the occult regardless of use of irony. But, hey, we are all free people and we can say and do whatever we please. Let’s just not impose our will on anyone else.

I’m going to go ahead and ask for a source, but I don’t really expect one. Conspiracy theories are fine and dandy, and I like reading them just as much as the next Goon, but, making such assertions without proof simply makes one look foolish.

There are many examples of people suffering at the hands of the so-called social elite. Look at any of the current Republican candidates for president to see how people will suffer should any of them be elected.
I think endangering children is a horrible thing. On this, we appear to agree. But, again, accusing people of taking such actions without proof is foolish. Again, I ask for your sources to your assertions.

You’re referring to psychic vampires. I know a few and they are rather dickish, to be honest.

Aaaand tihs is the point I was trying to make, folks, right here. There is no foundation in actual occult training in Harry Potter or Twilight. Got it? They are just stories, and bad ones in the case of Twilight.
Thus, the irony I was using was pointing out the erroneous claim that the Christian Right (and other Bible-thumping wackos) use to censor and control the literature we read and the movies we see.
