Today is November 20, 2011. Today, we set aside to remember our Transgendered brothers and sisters who were the targets of violence simply for being themselves. We remember them in spite of the efforts to forget them; to erase them from existence.
We remember in defiance of hate and bigotry. In defiance of ignorance and fear.
We remember. And we mourn.
We mourn the loss of so many wonderful people who’s lives were so tragically and brutally cut short by murderers. Small minded people who fear what they don’t understand and hate what they fear.
We remember, lest we forget.
Visit International Transgender Day of Remembrance for more information and a list of the slain.
