Why I Don’t Go to Family Reunions

I don’t like my family. They’re judgmental, hateful, and not at all interested in actually helping anyone with anything.

Fuck ’em.

I’ve been to two family reunions that I can recall. The earlier one happened when I was a child and have only vague memories of it. The more recent one was last summer and it wasn’t too bad. I’d say that the worst part for me was having to endure a church service, which I hadn’t done in years.

But I can understand your feelings, believe me. I’ve spent most of my life trying to get away from an immediate family that drives me bonkers.

Well, when I go, I’m completely ignored. I don’t know half the people there anymore and the more interesting members of my family, and the ones I actually liked, are dead.

That, and like most everyone else I know, they talk down to me and treat me like a leper. No. Scratch that. They’d treat a leper better, I think.

      I’m done with ’em.
