Looking for a Guest Blogger

A few months ago, I mentioned that I was looking into having a guest blogger. I’m still interested in having someone guest blog here, perhaps on a regular basis, though that will depend a great deal on your ability to write and present your ideas.

I will not simply hand over the keys to the House to you. It will require you to abide by certain restrictions, as annotated below:

1.) Submit an idea first using the Contact form, above.
2.) If I like your idea, I’ll let you know and you can begin writing it. There is no limit to the length of the post, but you must be consistent and it must entertain as well as inform.
3.) I will automatically reject any submissions which are thinly veiled advertisements for anything. Don’t try to get around this. You won’t succeed.
4.) You must have a blog that has real content and not simply a re-posting what others have written. Show me you have something to say that is from your own mind.
5.) You will not be paid in any way shape or form.
6.) A link back to your blog is permissible, but you shouldn’t spend your entire blog post (or any of it, really) selling your blog to my readers. Let what you have to say do the selling for you.
7.) Submissions which are inflammatory or filled with hate rhetoric will be rejected out-of-hand and at my discretion.

That is pretty much it. If you have an idea, send it. Remember, submissions are not paid for in any way.

I look forward to seeing some good ideas.

I shall ponder your rules and if I am able to comply I shall fill out your contact form and we can discuss. 😛

I’d lend a word, but not only do I not actually blog myself, I’m afraid that some of our fundemental differences of viewpoint might cause a literary matter/antimatter detonation that might break the internet. Much like typing google into google. 🙂

I’ll content myself with offering up wall-of-text comments that can at times be used in home repair in place of sheetrock.

I’m not opposed to allowing someone of a differing viewpoint to blog here, Storydad, so long as the post was done in a respectful way and not filled with hate speech, name calling, or similar behavior. I’d even let a Tea Party member blog here, if they can present their ideas in a concise and meaningful way and they presented factual information. (Not half-truths, mind; fact along with sources and links to those sources.) I doubt I’d get much on that front, though, to be honest. I don’t think anyone from the Tea Party reads this blog. *shrug*

So, the only thing really holding you back is the lack of a blog. A stumbling block that is easily rectified, you know. You’ve already got the account here at WordPress, might as well use it, right? 😉
