Something We’ve All Forgotten

Take the time to view the following video. In the past, I’ve been critical of the Islamic faith, simply because of the actions of a few misguided people. The speaker in the video, Moez Masoud, gave this speech shortly after the Danish cartoons of violent Muslims came out as a news story.

In case you missed the message here, we ALL have to work together to make this planet a better place. That means putting down our religious and idealogical differences and learn to trust one another, learn to live with one another.

Pagans, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Heathens, Atheists. Everyone.

Can you put down your misconceptions about those who are different from yourself? I know its a hard thing to do, but we’ve got to do it if our species, not just our individual countries, is to survive. It’s time we stopped judging others for how they are different from ourselves and start learning how we can live together in peace.

C’mon. Learn a little.

I think if more of the media showed the true side of religions rather than just the fringe groups, we’d all have a little more tolerance. The media seems only interested in dividing religions. Not all Catholic priests molest children. Not all Protestants follow televangelists and blindly give money to those people. Not all Muslims go around wanting to blow up the world. Yet that’s all we ever see on television. I think more people should seek out others of differing beliefs to understand who they are. Maybe then the world would be more peaceful.

You Said: “Not all Catholic priests molest children. Not all Protestants follow televangelists and blindly give money to those people. Not all Muslims go around wanting to blow up the world.

I would add one more to that list: Not all Pagans are devil worshipers.

And I heartily agree that the press is responsible for the perceptions American’s have about other religions. But, I have to ask, is this do more to the lies being told, or the people who believe them?

To quote Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars Episode IV: “Who’s more the fool, the fool, or the fool who follows him?”

I think American’s (and anyone regardless of what nationality they are) have to take the responsibility to learn about those different from themselves. That is the key to peace, in my opinion.

Thanks for posting a great comment!
