Movie Review: Jarhead

Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, Chris Cooper, and Jamie Foxx.
Director: Sam Mendes.
Rating: R (Pervassive language, some violent images, and strong sexual content.)
Plot: Jarhead tells the story of Anthony Swofford, a Marine Scout Sniper who served in the First Gulf War as he journey’s from Boot Camp to combat duty with 2/7 Marines. His journey is one of cynicism and sardonic humor as he tries to survive in the extreme heat of the Iraqi desert.
Notes: Jarhead is based of the book of the same name by Anthony Swofford. Jami Foxx turns in his best performance yet (topping even Ray.)
My Rating: Highly recommended, especially for war film buffs. Four and a Half Goons out of Five.

    Yeah…Jake shows his butt!

Yeah. Okay. There is the whole Naked Gyllenhaal Ass thing too. I forgot about that.

    Thanks Aeroh.

I was going to issue complaint about you obviously getting to pick the movies instead of your wife getting to. But after knowing of the naked ass scene, maybe she’s a smart wifie that I could get pointers from ….

  4. WonderGoon says:

Actually, I watched that one alone. My wife doesn’t pick the movies I review, I usually just grab one off the shelf, watch it, and then post a review of it.

My goal is to post a review of all the movies I own. We’ll see if that works, though.

Ewan MacGreggor, Johnny Depp are her two favorites. Jake Gyllenhaal, I don’t think, is one she takes much notice of.

    Thanks for posting.
