Helping Those in Need

Winter is in full swing in many parts of the country and a large number of Americans have recently lost their homes due to the economic downturns in this country. I would hope that if you’ve got a few dollars to spare, that you remember these folks during the Holiday season. After all, it’s supposed to be a time of helping people and caring for our fellow man.

In that spirit, here are a few links you should check out to help those in need:

Feeding America
Georgia Food Bank
Atlanta Community Food Bank

Helping others is not something we do because we want to, it’s something we are driven to do. Either because of our religious beliefs or because we feel a nice warm fuzzy feeling when helping those less fortunate than ourselves.

Regardless of the reason, helping someone who needs it is mandated by many religious beliefs systems, including my own. I would argue that it is our responsibility or duty to help our fellow citizens when they are in need.

Sure, many of them might not return the favor, but many would. And that is encouraging to think that we can help those who cannot help themselves.

I urge you to give to the local food banks in your area and, maybe, even to volunteer at a local soup kitchen to help feed the hungry this Holiday season.

May whatever Gods or Goddesses you worship grant you blessings,
